The Mattman Company is one of the most fabled and prestigious names in providing security to world leaders, dignitaries, government agencies and for special events worldwide. When the company decided to get publicity for its custom-built vehicles, the PR demands were highly strategic and time sensitive.

To publicize Mattman’s specialty vehicles division for medical and educational institutions and commercial markets. Spark sales of mobile command posts vehicles for law enforcement agencies in cities where significant risk factors existed. Provide significant positive publicity to favorably position the company for being listed on one of the major exchanges.

 

STRATEGIES
Generate visibility of Mattman’s mobile command posts vehicles in specific markets, after the 9-11 attack, to drive sales of similar custom vehicles. Associate Mattman specialty vehicles with prominent law enforcement agencies in cities like Dallas and Los Angeles to stimulate interest and stimulate sales from other at-risk major metropolitan areas.

Utilize publications to focus on the company’s esteemed history and target TV news broadcasts to best showcase the visual elements of the vehicles (e.g. stealth capacity, cutting edge technologies, mobile communications, etc.).

 

RESULTS
This campaign strategically targeted TV stations and publications in specific cities as well as vertical trade publications. Local print placements in San Diego included the San Diego Union-Tribune, The San Diego Business Journal and The San Diego Daily Transcript. National placements included numerous photo-features including the Kansas City Star, The Dallas Morning News and the Dallas Fort Worth Star-Telegram. The client’s most important vertical trade publication, Fire Rescue Magazine also did a major photo-feature on Mattman.

Television coverage included 10 TV features on ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX affiliates as well as Independent stations from Los Angeles to Dallas.
